Feature Request: Continuous Subtitle Timing Without Gaps
Hello,
I’d like to suggest a feature: could you make it possible for subtitles to run continuously, so that the end time of one subtitle matches the start time of the next, without any empty gaps in between? Thank you for considering this improvement.
Looking forward to your reply. Thanks!

Yes. Click the Refiner button inside the waveform editor, select ‘extend,’ and then click Start. You might wanna choose select how long would you like to extend.

We could have an option that allows you to extend everything with no gaps at all, but is having ZERO gap really a good thing? Say you’re having a segment like ‘Hello’ and lasts for 5 seconds.

The idea for the feature is to make the video edits seamless. Think of faceless videos, or saas product demo videos, this would be helpful to cut out the areas that can be omitted. You can either cut out or speed up these silent (no voice/subtitle) sections This will imporve the engagement of the video for the end users.
Yes you are right with the “Hello” example. You might need to detect long vs short silences, etc. Also you can combine this with your chapter feature. Where you know by timestamp which sections are interesting, etc. So you know intro vs other parts of the video that can be edited out.
